Chef Instructor Position
Position Overview:
As a Chef Instructor at Hone-Sharpen, you’ll guide guild visitors through engaging culinary experiences, leading classes alongside the Kitchen Coordinator and assistants. Your focus will be on maintaining class flow, encouraging participation, and ensuring food safety while creating delicious dishes.
Responsibilities:
- Use recipes, lesson plans, and other tools to develop culinary experiences that are engaging, entertaining, and educational.
- Exhibit correct culinary techniques/practice while maintaining cleanliness, organization of kitchen and equipment during scheduled instruction time.
- Observe and evaluate students/participants' culinary skills and techniques.
- Ability to thoroughly present culinary concepts related to your area of expertise.
- An enthusiastic disposition and a genuine desire to impart culinary expertise and skills to others.
- Ability to connect with an audience through storytelling and shared interest in food.
Class Coordinator Position
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the owner to create Hone-Sharpen monthly classes and event schedule.
- Work with private event clients to customize their desired culinary experience.
- Coordinate with Kitchen Coordinator and Inventory Associate to make sure the facility is properly equipped for private and public classes and events.
- Logistical understanding of the event planning process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build creative culinary experiences.
Inventory Associate Position
Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory counts, handle restocking processes, and guarantee that ingredients and supplies for production and class needs are available.
- Manage the cleaning and organizing of dry storage, coolers and other relevant equipment to maintain food safety standards and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with class coordinator and lead kitchen assistants and other relevant personnel to understand the needs of instructors and Hone-Sharpen customers.
- Ability to use inventory management software and analyze data.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
Kitchen Coordinator Position
Each kitchen at Hone-Sharpen provides a distinct culinary experience. As a Kitchen Coordinator, you will become the resident expert on all equipment, organization and operations in your assigned kitchen. Your expertise will greatly support the chef instructor both before and during each class, ensuring that guild visitors have an unforgettable experience.
- Carry out the class setup and breakdown process by adhering to Hone-Sharpen checklists.
- Maintain communication with the chef instructor throughout the session to ensure that necessary food, equipment, and supplies are available.
- Manage volunteer assistants in ensuring the kitchen is clean and organized throughout the session.
- Support class participants during the session by addressing relevant inquiries.
- Oversee food and beverage service during the class.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Associate and Class Coordinator to properly organize the class/event experience.
- Logistical understanding of how a cooking class/culinary event operates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient problem-solving skills and handling unexpected changes.
Receptionist Position
At Hone-Sharpen, we value every visitor and customer of the guild. You will strive to make them feel welcomed and appreciated upon their arrival. By responding to their inquiries in an engaging manner, you will help spark their excitement for scheduling their next culinary adventure. This position also includes some administrative responsibilities.
- Greet and direct customers and guests as they enter Hone-Sharpen.
- Responding to inquiries online, in-person, and over the phone, which will include registering customers for classes and events.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as handling mail, filing, and document creation.
- Customer service experience and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Proficient problem-solving skills and handling unexpected changes.
